So for the last year, August's Grandma Wohlwend has been wanting to buy him a "car". Not just a small hot wheels - nope, the big ones that are battery powered and you can ride in them, so we didn't think he was quite ready for one until this year when Scott "discovered" one at Costco. They had this black, Cadillac Escalade on display and Scott thought that was pretty cool. Well, August thought it was cool too because for the next 3 trips to Costco (which are usually spaced out every two weeks according to payday!) August would see that car and just get crazy! So we made the call and got the ok from Grandma Wohlwend. Of course she told Grandpa Wohlwend that they bought their grandson a Cadillac and Gpa Wohlwend said "Are you sure it wasn't for our son-in-law?" Then we made a call to Grandma/Grandpa Wegner and they decided to get in on the gig too, so the car was from both the Grandparents. Too Cool!
So the rest of the short story is that we actually bought the car the end of November, but Scott waited until the Saturday before Christmas to decide to open it and put it together. Well, all was going well until he and his dad discovered that all the pieces that were needed to put the thing together and to make it go were completely missing! They weren't anywhere in the box...... Herb made sure to check very closely even..........
As August just said while I was posting this, "There's Grandpa - shoes, buns"! and "There's Grandpa's house!" "Grandpa hiding mom!"
You've been caught Grandpa! We know you're just trying to hide!
Are you sure there's nothing else in there?
At any rate, we had to take it back and get a different one. Of course the only catches were, we were getting ready to go out of town for 3 days, there was 1 1/2 feet of snow on the ground, and we would have to try and go back to Costco Christmas Eve, get it and then Scott and his dad would have to put it together Christmas Eve. Needless to say, it all worked out good and if you look at another post, August loves it!
