So this year for Thanksgiving, we decided to stay home and I asked Scott if it was ok to host it at our house. He was game, so we invited Aunty Kelly and her friend Greg, Aunty Lynne and Uncle Dean and Kelly's friend Ginger's brother Richard (Bud) and his new wife, Jennifer (just up from the Phillipines). Ginger was in Washington DC so she wasn't able to join us. So since we all have such different backgrounds - Scott, Kelly, Lynne and Dean all grew up in Hawaii, I grew up in Arizona, Greg grew up in the South, Jennifer grew up in the Phillipines and Bud grew up in a little town in eastern Oregon, I asked everyone to bring something from their "traditional" Thanksgiving table, so we had lots of different food! It was pretty cool. We provided the turkey, potatoes, stuffing, rolls and pumpkin pie and everyone else brought something from all these different cultures.
Scott took this picture and I don't think he intentionally took it to show the flame coming out of the Martinellis bottle, but he did! It's really a candle back behind there!

Some of the spread.
So we ate and stuffed ourselves of course, then we played a couple of rousing games of Taboo (my favorite game!) and then had dessert. It was a lot of fun and a good way to enjoy the holiday away from the rest of our family. August konked before we ate lunch which is why you don't see any pictures of him. Scott helped me out by watching him all day long while I was cooking. He had fun running around later on, messing up the cards to our game and just making all of us laugh.
The happy newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Carlson.
We are so thankful for our family and our friends and were wishing we could have been with all of them, but we know they were safe and having fun as well.
The last little bit to this post is the day after Thanksgiving shopping............or maybe I should save that for another post. Scott is wanting to use the computer, so I will sign off for now and tell you about that later!!!!
