A cold day....

So this past week has been a little crazy considering we were getting everything ready for Thanksgiving, so I was rushing around quite a bit trying to get the house cleaned up, and all that good kind of stuff, but on Monday, August decided that he wanted to go outside and play, so we bundled him all up and sent him outside. He probably spent a good 40 minutes out there and it was FREEZING! Ok, so it was probably in the 40's so not like it was snowing or anything, but still it was cold. He spent most of the time throwing his football around, and bouncing a golf ball on the concrete until he lost the golf ball in our ivy bush. Then of course, he was distracted by the site of a slug and had to come get me to see it. Eeewwww!

He was havinga blast!

Bouncing the golf ball.

So he came inside and I am still working like a mad woman (well, waddling around like a mad, pregnant woman) so I decided to get out his markers and crayons and this cool "work station" Aunty Lynne bought him for Christmas last year. I decided to take a "sort of" break, and I'm so glad I did. Some days this kid just amazes me again and again. So he really like the markers and amazingly kept them mostly on the paper, but he would un-cap one, draw, re-cap it, grab another one and go through the same process. Then he proceeded to tell me "look Mom - rainbow" and he drew a big arc several times (as you can see) with different colors. Then he told me - "mom - write name, A, G, U" while he was making some black marks on the paper.....spelling already??? I sat there and watched him for about 20 minutes so glad that I had the time to sit and observe him.

He was posing for me!

Drawing a rainbow.

His completed rainbow and if you look closely, right by where he is drawing, in black, he wrote his name.
