Lollipop Kid #4.

Getting ready - mom had to gel and spray his hair!

Is he too cute or what? Of course I'm biased, but still!!!

So this year I thought August would have a little bit more fun with Halloween even though it's not my favorite holiday. So I started planning what I thought would be a fun, cheap costume for him and what we could do. The City of McMinnville hosts a "downtown trick or treat" event every year from 3:30 to 5:30 with pictures, costume contests and of course trick or treating at all downtown business's that want to participate. So I thought - what a great idea - we can get it all done in one place, so the plan was to get there around 4 and do the t or t thing for a little bit, go home and then Scott was going to take him around the neighborhood.

Well, he, like all toddlers made sure that all the careful plans we made were spoiled and so of course, that day of all days, August decided he wasn't going to fall asleep for his afternoon nap until 3:00! (He normally goes down between 1:00 and 1:30) I had to wake him up at 6:00 for dinner! At any rate, we hustled some dinner and then got him into his outfit so we could take him out in the neighborhood. And it turned out that it was just the perfect amount of houses because by the end, he was telling me "here Mom, hold it" (his bucket!). He was the cutest little Lollipop kid!!! And I think he had fun. He figured out the typical "Trick or Treat" verbiage and of course it sounded more like "trick tree" and after every single house, he would come away and say, "Mom, hey, got candy". (of course having his little pauses and diction and tone of voice makes it so much more cute and funny, but unfortunately I can't duplicate that by typing it!)

Is he too cute or what? Of course I'm biased, but still!!!

All in all, we had a fun time. And before my very eyes, this once little tiny baby has become the most intelligent, handsome human being I could imagine. What a wonderful gift to Scott and I!
