So today was a little bit of a trial for a certain mom (who shall remain nameless at this juncture) with a certain 2 1/2 year old and needless to say there were many spankin's goin round!!!
So it was after we had quite a thorough go-round and a certain little boy was allowed to come out of his room after a "time-out" thinking time, that I told him he needs to learn to listen and obey, to which he replied:
"I think we need to have more joy around here."
As I was choking back my laughter I was also having to swallow a bitter pill of irony. I have to admit I had a hard time being joyful today, but after he said that I worked extra hard to be happy and joyful (even as the spankings continued through out the evening). Thank goodness Scott was home finally (he'd been out of town for 3 days, so I was more than happy to have him back!)
As my friend Danielle likes to say "out of the mouth of babes". I love this kid!
