August

This is a post all about August - Grace's is coming too. I thought you all might like to see how goofy this little guy is becoming.
Oh come on Mom - Pleeaaasseee?

It's funny as they are growing "babies" you notice little physical milestones, but as they get older, it's not as much physical as it is intellectual right? And with saying that, we've been having some challenges with a certain 2 year old. However, last night I was chatting with a friend who brought some clarity to the situation and I'm so glad I talked with her. She gave me some tips, which we are starting first thing this morning and we'll see how our challenges go.
I caught him like this and just laughed my head off!
He's too weird!
Anyway - his new favorite things are Lighting McQueen and Mater and he loves books about dinosaurs or pirates. In fact, I went to the library to get him some books and found one about pirate dinosaurs and I think I've read it about 8 times - along with Scott's having read it about 3. I think that's his favorite right now! He is all boy which is so nice, yet so interesting.

He looks clean from a distance, but don't look too close!
He is beginning to understand some concepts of days/time although he doesn't understand length of time of course. His other favorite thing is "slumber parties" which was started about a month ago - (different post) and he does fairly well with them.
It's been super nice at this point in time because he is not really fighting me too much (at least on a regular basis) about taking a nap and so there have been a couple days where he says he's not tired and then I find him like this........
and this.........
He's starting to have his own funny personality which I guess is one of the changes you notice when they are transitioning from babies into little kids. I just laugh because he remembers things that he wants to, yet can't seem to remember something I told him to do only 2 seconds before (sound familiar Mom??? I NEVER did that did I!)
I'm helping Mom, really!
Anyway - I love this little boy and couldn't imagine our lives without him!

PS - Sorry for the pictures turned sideways - not sure why that happened, but I wanted to include them anyway - he decided he wanted to put on daddy's socks.......which were more like leggings, but anyway - he's just so silly!
