Oh the joys....

I'm posting this as my little girl is lying on my tummy - not a commen occurence in our house as I like for the kids to sleep in their own beds, but I don't think she got a nap in nursery this morning, so she ate, and went right back to sleep - poor thing. I haven't had a chance to post anything this past week, let alone get my laundry done (how did you other moms say you do it? haven't figured out how to get it all done!) (well, on second thought, I think part of the problem is motivation - do you have to like laundry to be motivated to get it done??? Hmmmm.....no, I think the motivation is when your kid has one pair of pants that you hate and an unmatching t-shirt that you equally hate with the only clean pair of chonies he has currently ON HIS BODY!) Good thing Scott has a lot of clothes!) Whoa - how did I get off on that?!?

At any rate, I just have to write about how beautiful it is today, and was yesterday, and the day before and will be tomorrow for Memorial Day! Can't wait to have Scott home for another day! Didn't get to catch this on camera because I was busy looking for something, but we just finished lunch this afternoon, and Scott took August outside with him when he went to go scoop the "pooper roops" as August loves to call it......and when I look back out, he and August are playing with the balls in the back yard - of course, Scott, being a guy was lovingly bouncing the big one off of Augusts head like only a dad could do and August was just laughing hysterically!! Only boys!

August has been cracking me up lately - speaking of which.......
Conversation by August and Mom:

August: And the guy went downtown and the alligator went ppckkeewwww (how do you spell sound effects????) and he had the monkey and the guy went died cross. I was cracking up. (all the while saying this with a laugh in his voice!)

Mom: Oh yeah - is that right (masking - or trying to mask- the fact that I AM CRACKING UP!)
August: Yeah.

That is a typical conversation I have with him on a daily basis. just change up a few of the animals each time, and you'll have it about right!

The other night we were invited to Jen Brocks house for a friend's night and ever since then he's been saying: "Mom - I want to go to Jen's to drink tea." ????? Drink Tea ?????? I have NO clue where he got that, but it makes me laugh when he says it. His other latest thing is: "Mom - we're going Uncle Nicks, Uncle Doreens, biblestudy and eat hamagers." or "Mom did you see it, it wasn't an airplane it was a holichoppter". And another funny one: "Mom, you got my birthday present for me?"

And the finale to this huge, long, pictureless blog post is:
The other day I was getting him in trouble and had taken him into his bathroom and shut the door because Grace was asleep (he had run, yelling at the top of his lungs, into the hall, into their bedroom - hence the reason he was getting in trouble). And I'm trying to get him to look at me (you know how two year olds love to look at anything else other than your eyes while your getting them in trouble) and I notice he keeps looking at my ears. First he'd cock his head to one side to look at one and then at the other. Then he'd look at me in the face, his eyes would drift to the side of my head - his head would cock and he'd look at the other side and finally, I couldn't contain it! I just started laughing my head off because it was so funny! I said "What are you looking at?" And he says: "Mommy - you got your pearls on?" And at that I just died laughing , which in turn caused him to start laughing and the getting in trouble part was out the window for the night! (Now a small note to this - I almost ALWAYS wear the same earrings, but had decided to wear my hoops in the first hole and my pearls in the second hole, but we've only talked about pearls and diamonds and precious stones ONCE! How did he remember that those were pearls?!?!?) Oh the things a two year old can do!!

And at that, I am done. It's time to start getting ready for church, but if I don't post all week, I hope you all enjoy the lovelyness of spring!
