Mother's Day

I always forget that this day is for me instead of just for my mom and all my friends moms. I keep forgetting that I AM a mom! Weird huh? I always just think it's not a day for me, but even on the weird/crazy/bad days, I am oh so glad that I became a mom. My two little babies are one of the most precious things God has given me and I love them! I read a quote in a magazine of a lady who was asked if she could have one wish granted - what would it be? She said "to go back and rock my babies one more time". Oh that just struck me because when you are in the midst of the chaos of two little babies, you forget that there will come a day when they will not want to be cuddled or "snuggled" (as August likes to call it :)) I won't always be able to pick them up and wipe their tears, so it hit me like a ton of bricks to once again remember to enjoy each and every day I have been given with these two beautiful creatures living in our home.

Mother's day was nice - Scott had made reservations at a nice restaurant here in town that does a special Mother's Day buffett - and you know Scott - he's all about getting as much food as he can for a good price (as I say - he's all about 'quantity' vs. 'quality') but it was fabulous. He also had bought me some watering globes for my plants (for all of you out there who hate to water your house plants - GET THESE WATERING GLOBES - they are wonderful!) So I was nice and surprised. Scott unloaded and re-loaded the dishwasher for me (a new thing he's been doing for me on Sunday mornings.......and I didn't even ask him! Go Scott! Love that guy!)

It was just a nice easy day and August and I came home after evening service and ate crackers and cake!!! (so nutritious!)
