Have you ever wondered?

Have you ever wondered about the incredible miracle that kids are? I was just sitting here, updating my blog, looking through all the pictures to see if there was anything I was missing from our latest big event and realized again how amazing babies are.

As I was sitting in the pharmacy the other day waiting for a prescription, a lady sat next to me admiring little Grace and we wondered together over the absolute miracle that babies are. What tells the body to put the ears just so, and what tells the eyelids at this particular time, you need to be formed, and what is it that tells the mother's body - now is the time for the baby to be born and puts everything into place to make that event happen. It makes you appreciate the awesomeness of God, and how He put such wonderful details together to allow us to have these incredible little human beings in our lives. Even as they grow up, I'm amazed at the ability of our little boy to learn and grow and process information. I am in awe, once again, at the greatness of our God.

And finally, I have to throw in this little tidbit about August. We were having lunch yesterday afternoon at a restaurant when I noticed an older lady sitting by herself eating lunch. It was a little sad to me because she was all alone. But what was incredible was I would catch her, every few minutes, looking at August and would watch as a smile would grow on her face. Of course, I was sitting there helping him be good in the restaurant (as all parents know how EASY that can be!!!!) and was trying not to get frustrated at his 2 year old-ness. But I was reminded once again that our little boy is hysterical when she stopped me and said - "I don't think I've ever seen ice cream eaten with a straw before today!" She loved our little boy and left the restaurant smiling. I was so thankful that in some small way - even though he didn't realize it - he was able to make one little old lady's day just by being himself.

Thanks August for just being you!!!

So sweet! I love the girly pix of Grace in the dress! How precious that you captured August singing. I have to remember to pull the camera out a little more often instead of just enjoying Natalee's cuteness myself! Otherwise I wont' have any of these memories captured!!
