Sort of, but hey I guess there has to be a little crazy in us all!
This post came about with the thought of my mom. I had to laugh when she was here with us when Grace was born because she became the "August distracter" and of course at this particular point in his existence, he is enthralled with Play-dough. And so of course, he asks to play with it about 2 times a day. Well, I couldn't remember playing with Play-dough very much as a kid, but if he likes it - what the heck - just let him play! Of course it makes a HUGE mess as all you other moms out there can relate. Well, what made me laugh is that my mom confessed!!! SHE HATES PLAY-DOUGH!!!! She said she never would let us play with it as kids (hence the reason I don't remember playing with it!!!! :) ) But what a trooper she was and every time August asked to play with it and his mom (me) said it was ok, Grandma would dutifully get it out and play with it - all the while, I'm sure, cursing my name in her mind!!!! She was always glad when the play-dough went away and the puzzles or books came out!
Well Grandma Wohlwend, be glad - be very glad I didn't throw this one on you!!!!
These "washable" paints were a gift from Scott's cousin Cheyne who lives in Hawaii and August discovered them the other day. I must say, once I actually showed him they were "finger" paints, he dug right in and had a blast. I'm still seeing remnants of the red and green on the underside of the table because I keep forgetting to take the wash cloth to the under side of the table (do any of you do that on a regular basis??? :))

Love the fingerpaints! i bought some a couple of weeks ago but haven't brought them out yet...you are so brave :) i have a recipe for homemade playdough that i want to try, too - if it's good, i'll send it to you - maybe your mom wouldn't mind it as much! Most people i know who don't like it is because of the smell.
Thanks for your note, and there is no reason with a 5-week-old baby that you would ever be jealous of pregnancy :) And in no way would you ever be jealous of THIS one - i have been so sick!! Uggh...hopefully it will ease in the next few weeks.
