So August and I have been doing "cooking" class lately! I know, you're probably freaking out and I think if I was a newer mom I would be too, but anyway - he is at the age where he just loves helping and it is so fun. He's learned to shell shrimp, pour flour, sugar, water etc., into a bowl, boil "noodles" or top ramen (saimen), and make macaroni and cheese. Of course in the process he is learning that the stove, pots and pans, things that come from the oven, etc. are "dary hot" and so is learning not to move when he's around the stove, etc.
I'm hoping that he'll learn a few things so that when he's older, he'll be able to cook for himself, or bake if he wants to. I remember, mom letting Casey and I start to bake, and I don't know about Casey, but I love to bake and cook now. I just wish I was a little better, but there is time! So we'll see. Here are a couple of cute pictures of August making and then eating "mac and cheese" and then helping me make sugar cookies with sprinkles and of course, eating them!
