So on New Years Day, Scott and I wanted to get out of the house, so we had the kids take a nap in the car and decided to go shopping. Of course it was pouring down rain, but we needed some time out, so I really wanted to go to Crate and Barrel (which was CLOSED!!! - the nerve! :)), but settled for The Container Store, and Scott went to a gun store and then we went to Washington Square for fun.
As it was getting later, we decided to go to one of our favorite American/Mexican Restaurants - Azteca in Lake O.
So here's the funny part.......
As we are sitting there and eating, August - (as is his usual routine) begins to sing at the top of his lungs - which is where our story begins.........
Conversation goes like this:
Me: August! Keep your voice down! We are in a restaurant and people don't want to hear you yelling! Do you understand me?
August: (with an absolute dead pan, serious face) Yes your Greatness!!!
Me: pause...........Bwaaaaaaaa haaaaaaaa haaaaaa haaaaa haaaaaaa!!!!!
(Sorry - I COULD NOT hold the laughter in) (and of course Scott is looking at me like..."what did he just say???")
I think I laughed for 5 minutes and I laugh even harder every time I tell the story!!!! He got the line from our Christmas Play where the Wisemen are talking to King Herod and say "Yes your greatness!".
OH MY GOODNESS!!! It was absolutely hysterical.
Then the next night Scott and I are sitting at the table and August comes racing out of our bedroom. So of course we ask:
Scott: Watcha doin?
August: Just checking my email.
(HUH????? :))
Me: Is that right? Did you get any?
August: yeah - I got a couple from my friends.
(is he serious???? I am so trying not to laugh here)
Me: Are you supposed to be doing that?
August: ummmm, yeah sort of.
Ok - we lost it at this point and just went on with the evening. Couldn't figure out how to discipline that one cuz he knows he's not supposed to be touching daddy's IPOD touch (which is what he was doing by the way!!!)
Oh he gets funnier and funnier by the day.
Shaka brah!!
