Lions and tigers and..........

Alligators?!?!?!?!

Yep - August doesn't even know about The Wizard of Oz yet and he always says "Lions and tigers and _______ (fill in the blank with your pick.....giraffes, alligators, turtles, monkeys, dogs, etc.)" He is CONSUMED with alligators and crocodiles. The other day we're driving in the car and he says:
"Mommy!"
"Yes?"
"The crocodiles with 5 teeth and he chomped and then he flew up in the sky with the airplane, and he got me!"
"He got you?"
"Yeah, and then the alligator had 5 feet"
(interupting)"He had 5 feet?"
"Yeah and he flew really high and then crashed (sound effects) like that."
"Really?"
"Yeah."

This is just ONE conversation we have in the car. If we are in the car for more than about 5 minutes, the conversation just continues with more cars, trucks and animals thrown into the mix. Last night, we were driving home from a graduation and on the way to Coldstone (we got a treat afterwards cuz August was incredible for the WHOLE 2 hours! Thank goodness he wanted to bring some books. He sat there so quiet!) and he is starting another "story", meanwhile Scott and I are talking about something entirely different, trying to interject "yeahs" and "oh reallys" when we can into Augusts story. Meanwhile Grace is holding her own converstion with herself in the back seat. Needless to say it was very noisy and after about 30 seconds of this I told Scott "Can't wait for her to REALLY start talking - they're going to talk each other to death!"

I need to carry around my own little tape recorder because I'd love to catch everything he's saying - oh the stories he makes up and the influctions of his voice! They crack me up!

So with that....on to my next post.
