It was actually a really nice day for us, but this year was a little weird for me and I'm not quite certain why. I really appreciated the opportunity to go out for a special dinner (Thank you wonderous M-I-Law!), have some time with my family and such - but I had no emotions about it at all. Like, I didn't feel ANYTHING at all that day. Don't get me wrong - I love being a mother and all that that brings, I love my own Mother and all that she has instilled in me about being a mother, I love my Mother in Law because she raised a wonderful boy that I got to marry - I appreciate the mothers around me who remind me that we all make mistakes but we all go on and work together to make sure we all make it out of motherhood sane. But I couldn't help but shake the feeling of "what is so special about today?" It was a little strange for me.....I don't feel bad about it....Scott said he feels the same way on Father's Day - nothing. But he said something good for me to hear....He said "I'm a Dad every day....why do I need one day to celebrate what I am every day?" That helped me to remember that it's not about one day a year-it's about every day, of every year and how we live each day that counts in the end.
(Ok - have no clue where that last paragraph came from - I wasn't intending to write that but it just came out and so I'm leaving it to let you know I'm human)
We did have a nice day and I did manage- with my rudiamentary photography skills - to get a picture of myself - sort of......
Wow - what cute kids!~
The Little Princess
Look Mom - my finger nail! (really - I did get a picture of myself)

I think it means we're getting older Steph, birthdays are starting to get like that too.I seriously enjoy other holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas so much more. So I can understand your sentiment:)
Sorry...I'm selfish...I still love all the love and attention on Mother's Day. :) I'm glad you enjoyed the day even if you didn't feel anything out of the norm. That's great..you'll always be happy. :)
