Changes - Part 2

Well - here is part 2 of some of the changes that have happened this year.

Change #1: Old, ugly, useless wall - transformed into a computer corner! I have to admit, we-No I had a couple of arguments about this wall - not because I didn't want it to happen, but because of some issues I was having. Needless to say, this wall thing was Scott's idea because we both hated having my laptop scrolling around the floor, taking up space and just being a nuisance on the laptop cart he so lovingly bought me last year. I do have to say this is probably one of the coolest ideas he's had yet - not REALLY the cheapest perse, but cool non-the-less! And the only part HE didn't do was the drywall tape and texture, which we had someone else come in and do. Otherwise - he did it all. Mr. Handy I must say! (Herb would have to say it comes from HIS side of the family, but I think Thelma might argue some with that!!!) At any rate - way to go Scott -
I LOVE MY COMPUTER CORNER!

Imagine just a straight wall here with all that lovely empty space behind it (the designer was not very smart - hello!!!!)

I think this was Saturday of Weekend 1 of the corner makeover. I think all in all it took us about 4 weekends to get this thing completely finished - down to the shelf and the floor. BTW - if you look closely at the first picture and this one you will conveniently see that there is the addition of a wall outlet which wasn't there before. Also done by Scott. The light switch is higher now due to using the wires that were already there and not re-wiring everything, but alas - it still works!!!
Isn't it just loverly!!! We're going to get a real chair because it's killing us sitting on this stool (are we getting old? or just fussy? or maybe a little of both!)

Change #2: 1999 Pathfinder that we've had for almost 4 1/2 years and 1993 Truck (with only 63,000 miles on it!) that we've had (and I've loathed, er....I mean LOVED) for about 8 years transformed into..........

2006 Honda Ridgeline now updated with dual exhaust and custom wheels and Hawaii sticker and no bug guard (all changes made in the last 2 weeks - whew!!)

Goodbye old faithfuls! (I really thought Scott might cry about is truck.......but.....
.......I think he's having fun tricking this one out.
\
The dual exhaust that now makes it sound like a 1950's pickup with a cool rumble. (Scott cracks me up because he is now ALWAYS revving the engine to make it sound cool) Boys and their toys!
Change #3: Well - I don't have after pictures of the third change, but I'll tell you anyways. During January Conference, Pastor Mitchell asked Pastor Mammen if he would take the church that is in a city in New Mexico and he graciously said yes. I think they were a little sad to leave because this is the longest they've lived anywhere in the last 30 years I think! But they were excited too to see what God will do there. And during that same conference Pastor Mitchell just happened to ask Pastor Foley if he wouldn't mind coming back to Oregon - and I'm sure he and Janet said it would be a sacrifice, but if he really needed them to move out of the dessert and up to the beautiful Northwest, they could probably find it in themselves to make that sacrifice! (hee hee). So at any rate, Pastor and Janet Foley are now here and we're excited to see what God will under their Pastorate! Welcome!!!
(BTW - I don't have an after picture of the Foleys because....ummmmm.....how do you explain to your Pastor you need a picture of he and his wife for your blog???? Yeah that's what Iwas thinking too!!)
At any rate - I'll keep you updated on anything further that could happen.
PS - there is a story behind the sale of the cars and purchase of the new car that just has God's name written all over it. Story to be told later!
