My Project

So I said that I was going to post about this project a LONG time ago but never did.  So here it is.

So I KNOW all of you have one of these ugly cookie cutter cabinets in one of your bathrooms that you look at and don't think much about because - well - it's just there.  Well- every time Scott looked at it he HATED it.  Yes I meant to put that in capitals.  Much hate towards this poor little cabinet that didn't ask to be put here.  So what to do?  Well, you give it a little teeny face lift to see if the hate will turn to love.  Here are the steps you take.

1.  Get brave by just going and buying the paint at Lowes before you lose the nerve to do it.

2.  Take the thing off your wall in your bathroom and hope that the holes that were made while doing it will be covered when you put the thing back on the wall. :0)

3.  Take it into your garage and start disassembling and then remember you wanted to try and post about this so start taking a couple pictures.

And here she is:

4.  Wipe it all down with some sort of cleaner or paitn stripper and give her a good couple of coats of primer.

5.  Paint it white or whatever color you are wanting to paint it and then bribe  lovingly ask your husband if maybe he could take some of that leftover trim we used for another project and line the outside edges of it so it will look pretty because you decided you're not putting the doors back on it.

6.  Gush and awww over your husbands awesome handiwork, make a nice hot dinner and promise lots of hugs and kisses for doing you a great favor.  (By the way - Scott really did do a good job of putting the trim on there if I must say so! Thanks my man!)

7.  Decide after you paint the whole thing white that you want to paint the inside a different color and go buy more paint.  Finish painting and and impatiently wait for it to dry so your husband can hang it back up on the wall for you because you KNOW you're not going to be able to screw it back up there!

8.  Breath a sigh of relief not only that you gave your darling little shelf a makeover and it's not ugly any more, but also sigh because now Scott LOVES  it and asks when I'm going to paint the sink cabinets too! (huh???? Since when was I doing that???!!!)

Cheap, easy and so pretty - what more could a girl ask for?  The time and desire to do all the other projects she wants to do!  No biggie!
