Carrot Applesauce Cake

So yesterday morning - A-man comes into my bathroom. I'm busy getting ready for the day - makeup, etc. and all of a sudden - (before he asks for his usual chocolate milk mind you which is a shock!) and bursts out -

"Mom - we have to make a carrot applesauce cake!"

(Now I would try and describe the face I made, but it's too hard, so lets just say with a "huh???" look and a crinkled nose - ) I say:

"A carrot applesauce cake?? Ummmmm.....................why?"

"We have to make a carrot applesauce cake!"

"Ok - um, I'll have to see if I have the ingredients and find a recipe for it............"

"Oh - don't worry mom (reaching behind his back and then shoving it out in front to "show me") I have a recipe right here!!!"

(HAAAAA HAAAA HAAAA HAAAA HAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!)
"What??"

"Don't worry mom - I have a recipe right here (doing the whole behind the back and showing me the pretend recipe again)."


Ok - you can't tell me this kid is smarter than a 6th grader..............he remembers EVERYTHING except recognizing his ABC's - do ya think I could get him to tell me which letter is the letter A??? Oh no - but he can remember things like the above without even trying. I just laughed - this kid was making me laugh all day yesterday and I think it was good because he's made me practically cry all day today. I think I've had to administer some form of discipline at least once an hour or more ALL day.

Oh August - what would our lives be like without your spontaneous love and funnies?? Boring.


Oh - and as a PS - we DID make a cake, but it was an applesauce cake that turned out OH SO GOOD!!! Couldn't believe I haven't tried to make one before - hulllllloooooo where have I been!!! And I would have taken a picture, but it's almost gone, so maybe next time!!!!!
