.....And He's still alive!!! We sing a song in church with that title and I love it because it is the only statement you can say truthfully about any person who has walked the face of this earth. What a wonderful thing to know that because of God's son dying on the cross and then rising from the dead, we can have forgiveness of sins and eternal life - all for free! All we have to do is accept that free gift. And what peace you can know after accepting that free gift that your sins are forgiven and you can go to heaven when you die!
Although August is still young, we try to explain who Jesus is and what He did for us, but of course, he doesn't quite understand it yet. Nonetheless, this morning, during the alter call, he wanted to go up to the alter and pray with Scott, so Scott took him up there and prayed a sinners prayer with him. What an awesome thing - even though he's still fairly young and possibly doesn't understand everything, he can still know that he can have the bad things he does forgiven - not only by us, but more importantly by God. I got saved when I was three - raised my hand and answered an alter call for salvation and my mom prayed with me (if I remember the story right). Later, when I was older, a sweet older lady from our church reminded me that I had done that. Amazing!
